Popof Island · Sand Point, Alaska
Apartment-style suites with full kitchens and private baths — built for crews, contractors, and travelers who need more than a hotel room. Nightly, weekly, and monthly stays.
About
The Marineview sits above the water in Sand Point, on Popof Island in the Shumagin chain. Each suite is a self-contained apartment: its own kitchen, its own bath, its own living room. Cook your own halibut, do your own laundry, and spread your work out on the table.
Most of our guests are here to work — fisheries, construction, agency and utility crews — and a lot of them stay for weeks at a time. Some are here for the fishing and the birds. Everyone gets the same clean linens and the same view.
We know what the weather does to travel plans out here. If your flight gets canceled, tell us, and we'll sort the room out.

Around Town
Popof Island is small enough to walk and wild enough to be worth it. Here's where we point people.
One of the busiest small-boat harbors on the Alaska Peninsula. Walk the docks in the evening and watch the fleet come in — seiners, longliners, tenders — all of it.
Silvers, reds, and halibut that will ruin you for grocery-store fish. Bring your gear or ask us about local charter operators — book early for summer.
Puffins, kittiwakes, emperor geese in winter, and the occasional rarity blown in off the Bering. Bring the good binoculars.
Open tundra ridges above town with views across to Unga and the rest of the Shumagin chain. No trees, few trails, no crowds.
Dark sand, glass floats, and driftwood the size of telephone poles. Best after a good blow.
Sand Point has been a fishing port for well over a century, with Aleut, Scandinavian, and Russian roots all in one small town.

Plan Your Trip
Sand Point sits on Popof Island in the Shumagin Islands, off the Alaska Peninsula. There's no road in — you fly or you sail.
Scheduled service to Sand Point Airport (SDP) from Anchorage, weather permitting. Build a buffer day into your trip — fog happens out here. Let us know your flight, and we'll help with the ride from the terminal.
The Alaska Marine Highway serves Sand Point on a seasonal schedule. It's slower and cheaper, and it's a beautiful ride if you have the days to spare.
Town is walkable, and we're minutes from the harbor and the store. Vehicle rentals are limited — tell us in advance if you'll need wheels, and we'll help you sort it out.
